For those who are skeptical about the purchase of this pen specifically because of the pricing, let me ease your conscience. The $775 price comes down to extreme manual labor and rare materials. Most pens are made by machines in seconds, but Damascus metal is different. To make it, a craftsman must stack different types of brass and copper, heat them up, and fold them together over and over. This takes hours of expert work. If one tiny mistake happens during this process, the whole piece of metal is ruined and thrown away. ​You are also paying for exclusivity. Since the wavy patterns happen naturally during the folding, no two pens are identical. It’s like owning a piece of art that also happens to write. Plus, it’s built to never break, making it a buy it once item. This peice is absolutely beautiful and one of a kind. I can guarantee you will be happy with this purchase because the pen feels heavy and solid, making writing feel more important. You will love that the brass changes color naturally based on how you hold it, so it becomes more personal over time. I promise that if you purchase this pen, you will never need another.

I picked this up simply because the rest of their tools are so well made. I have never used a better sized and balanced blade for EDC. If you are on the fence, jump down and buy it. You won’t regret it.

When I was looking for a pen for my EDC kit, I was looking for a compact pen that made no compromises to quality. BigIdeaDesign made that happen. I am very impressed by the quality and the design. I will be buying the full-size pens from them in the future.

Man can’t them TI pen makers make a great fixed blade ? When you break throttles on motorcycles and burn rubber in 80 model porsha . I guess you get good at it ? Honestly I love the knive it’s great very sharp

I like this pen because of the deep pocket clip, I am kind of discreet, and more low-key” DIPLOMATIC ARTIST:) I am a freehand, graphic artist, mainly using ink pens’ but most of the time I like a mechanical pencil” for what I call a shadow image or a pulmonary sketch” and that’s why I like this ink pen:) it’s rugged interchangeable capabilities(IN MY PERSONAL RETROFIT) increases the diameter of the barrel and positive control grip-finger areas, because I am a heavy-handed artist, and I move with extreme precision and accuracy. Or mostly deliberate with concentrated focused.(I’m must keep my hand close to the nib or point of the edge of the pen to see exactly where the ink or lead is contacting the paper.(didn’t mean to give a convoluted explanation.) suggestion!!? can you make a screw on extended barrel width with ridges-lines on them?🫡🇺🇸‼️ thanks for the Veterans discount.

Love this design especially with old original design "coffin box" handle grip. Now I'm waiting for the same design with ultem scales ! Very tough and cool design. Daily pocket carry now.

Y'all knocked it out of the park with this one. The micarta is the perfect color and texture, the blade shape is ideal for EDC. The sheath is also flawless, shout out to Chattanooga Leather Works, these two together makes for an awesome and reliable fixed blade. I do wish it came with a kydex sheath with Ti clip like the other Lookouts

This is my 10th plus purchase from big idea design and like the rest it’s perfect. I have carried there pens and pocket tools for over 6 years and I enjoy them all. The marker is made to the same standards. My favorite feature is that you have the option to add a range of marker refills. I will be back to buy more for family and friends as gifts! Big idea design is one of the highest quality manufacturing companies of edc equipment i have ever known and i trust both the design process and the manufacturing process. Good designs are simple designs and this marker does not get any simpler. I am curious how it would hold up for people who work near metal milling or chips. Because this mechanism is magnetic driven it may slowly attract fine ferric materials. However it looks easy to wipe off so probably not a problem. No design is perfect but this is as close as we can get.
