I was thrilled to see these straps come off backorder after such a long period of time. I was drawn to this one because of the quality of the leather and the titanium hardware that matches my watch.
Unfortunately as I opened the package I realized that the strap had a flaw, the buckle side was extremely short. This may not seem like much but it results in the the clasp closing awkwardly on the side of the wrist instead of the middle of the inside of the wrist where it belongs. Adjusting this would make it far more comfortable. The leather that should have gone to the buckle side instead went to the tail end of the strap and so it is comically long. I have included pictures for my other nato strap for comparison. I would love to see this change implemented and adjusted as I think it would make for a much better product.
Thanks for the feedback, Isaac!
Didn't see anywhere in the listing that this was a NATO strap, so I'm disappointed this won't actually work on the watch I wanted it to go with.
Additionally, as mentioned multiple times here, it is comically short for where theyve placed the securing bands. Literally only the 3 smallest holes on the strap leave enough fabric to feed the strap through and fold over itself like a NATO is supposed to. Note in my photo - 3rd smallest hole, barely able to loop back.
They need to position the bands closer to the buckle and/or closer together.
All that said, I'm keeping it cause the blacked out stealth hardware is siiiick
Hey Andrew! We are making more that will be a little bit longer. Just reach out to us at support@bigidesign.com if you ever need anything!
I bought the strap for my Seiko 5 SRPD watch and it looks great alongside the silver/black design. The strap materials feel solid and the matte black hardware has a great finish to it. My only issue with the strap is that it's a bit short. Normally a strap is long enough to tuck the extra material back into the metal ring, but the strap is too short to do so. For reference, I have a 7" wrist.
I really like the quality of the materials, strap, and clasp. The strap materials are nice and soft, and the clasps feel strong, with a great texture. As this is a 260mm length strap there isn't much material to even get to the second loop, let alone barely double back and tuck in the first loop. While this is a nice strap, I would say that it is more for wrist diameters below 7". An XL strap option would be great to have on-site, possibly around the 280mm length or so. I purchased the green and black nylon to test fit, and originally had plans of getting the leathers as well. However, due to fit, I will currently hold out unless a longer strap is available and might look at passing these off to a smaller wristed friend.
I have a 7 3/4" wrist and currently wearing this strap with a Seiko5 Sports (lug to lug 46mm).
Thanks for the feedback Frank! This helps us out a lot!
