Bolt Action Pencil

Background:
I have bought several items from Big Idea Design over the years—including pens, mechanical pencils, and fountain pens—mainly due to their exceptional build quality.

My latest purchase was the "Bolt Action Pencil." As soon as I started using it, I felt that something was off. To verify, I compared it with a "Slim Bolt Action Pen" I bought a few years ago that I still use daily. The difference was obvious: the quality of the internal mechanism used to extend and retract the lead seems to have been downgraded. The older mechanism feels silky smooth, whereas this latest version has noticeable friction. It’s not a pleasant experience every time I deploy or retract the lead.

Just sharing this with the team and community so you can take it into consideration.

Which equals nine capabilities, these mechanical pencils are well worth the price, the design, the ruggedness, and capabilities of 0.5,0.7&0.9. lead refills. “ and for my personal liking’s” or the positioning of my fingers on the writing instrument, the capability to retrofit for my comfort zone as a heavy-handed and left-handed, graphic illustrator . The deep cherry pocket clip, Makes this pencil look professional and discreet and diplomatic’ for oldies like me who likes to wear their writing instrument in a chest pocket.

Sure I’m a gear & titanium nerd but just like the Slim Bolt Action Pen, the Bolt Action Mechanical pencil has exceeded my expectations.

The Damascus clips are the cherry on top! This pencil is a beautiful piece of engineering and an absolute pleasure to write with.

I’ll be proud to pass these down to my daughter some day. Thanks Big Idea, love your products!

I like this pen because of the deep pocket clip, I am kind of discreet, and more low-key” DIPLOMATIC ARTIST:) I am a freehand, graphic artist, mainly using ink pens’ but most of the time I like a mechanical pencil” for what I call a shadow image or a pulmonary sketch” and that’s why I like this ink pen:) it’s rugged interchangeable capabilities(IN MY PERSONAL RETROFIT) increases the diameter of the barrel and positive control grip-finger areas, because I am a heavy-handed artist, and I move with extreme precision and accuracy. Or mostly deliberate with concentrated focused.(I’m must keep my hand close to the nib or point of the edge of the pen to see exactly where the ink or lead is contacting the paper.(didn’t mean to give a convoluted explanation.) suggestion!!? can you make a screw on extended barrel width with ridges-lines on them?🫡🇺🇸‼️ thanks for the Veterans discount.

I received a damaged product right out of the box. It had a metal strip of the brass material cut out at the top, near the clip of the pencil. I don't know if it this wasn't checked before it was packaged or if its poor-quality brass material that is used. But I wasn't happy with the product. I immediately returned it and asked for a refund. I didn't want a replacement. I can't trust a product that is defective straight out of the box. I returned the product (with their shipping label). And it's been several weeks and still no refund. So a damaged product and I haven't gotten my money back, needless to say I cannot recommend this product or BigiDesign's customer service.
