I have two of these bolt action pens,
in titanium and zirconium and they are exactly as described. So easy to use, and just about any ink refill will work. They are so solid and well built you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend!
One of the best premium pens I’ve used. Three pens from Bigidesign shows how much I love the brand. Definitely recommend the bolt action and really recommend the timascus part upgrades. I am considering a brass bolt action next with timascus.
The pen itself is amazing in terms of quality and ability, I have a Ti Pocket Pro and I love that thing and this pen is just as good if not better. However, as a lefty I had to decide whether or not I wanted to switch the position of the pocket clip. With the pocket clip on the default (right) side I have to awkwardly turn the pen around every time I begin using it, so I decided it was best for ergonomics to swap it. However, the bolt collides with the pocket clip when it's on the left side. Luckily this isn't a functional issue, since it's still able to be deployed and retracted, but it is frustrating. I understand not wanting to make an entirely different pen for lefties (where the bolt would be a "J" shape instead of an "L"), but all that needs to be done to fix this is either to move the hole for the pocket clip just a bit to the right, or move the bolt a bit to the left so there is some distance between them.
I love a good looking pen. It shows class. However my favorite writing utensil is the plastic G2. The ink is bold and full. Now I have the best of both by being able to load G2 cartridges into my Ti bolt action. The dual diameter spring and the size adjustment is genius. Plan on keeping this a long time and buying other finishes and/or models.
I love this pen through and through. It takes all sorts of cartridges and writes great. The balance of the pen is pretty good and the bolt action is smooth and easy to use. I also love that it comes with both a black bolt and a Damascus bolt. The pen is also pretty lightweight, despite being fully made of metal. The quality is very good and I feel that this pen will last a very long time.
One minor issue I had is that the grip sometimes turns on its own and the tip of the cartridge will come out at different spots. Because of this, I have to manually adjust it. Not a huge issue, but it would be nice if there was a way to lock it in place so it doesn't move. The little bolt is also a screw-on piece, and sometimes it comes loose. So you'll have to constantly worry about retightening it. Again pretty big inconvenience.
My only other issue of course is the price. $100 for a ballpoint pen is kind of a lot. But if you can spare the change it's a great pen.
